Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah
رضى الله تعالى عنه
narrates:
رسول الله صلى الله تعالى عليه وسلم
said:

May ALLAH TA’ALA have mercy upon a man who gets up at night, then performs Salaah and wakes up his wife
Thus if she refuses, he sprinkles some water on her face
May ALLAH TA’ALA have mercy upon a woman who gets up at night, then she performs Salaah and wakes up her husband. Thus if he refuses, she sprinkles some water on his face

Spouses should assist one another in actions of worship and the obedience of ALLAH TA’ALA.
Such assistance should include advice, encouragement and motivation.
Males and females have an equal opportunity to engage in the worship of ALLAH TA’ALA.
