Sayyiduna Sahl Ibn Sa’ad رضى الله تعالى عنه narrates: Verily the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)
said:People will remain on goodness, as long as they hasten to break their fast
(Bukhari/Muslim)
It is recommended to hasten in breaking the fast, after the sun has set.
This opposes the ways of the jews, christians and shi’ahs.
One gains more strength for acts of worship.
